My friend Lucian took this picture. We’ve been collecting white pine sap for weeks. Finally, we heated the jar it was collected in, boiling it in water, to melt the sap itself. Then we added crushed charcoal in a 1:1 ratio. Then, we mixed it with a stick and collected blobs of sap on the ends of them. When we want to stick something, we can use this stick, heat it up and use the sap mixture to glue things.

This is beautiful Oliver mou. It reminds me of when I was growing up making glue with the same process but instead of pine sap, I used … almond tree sap. And look now, some 40 years later, my son is doing the same. ❤️
