Who knew kiwi grew in Maine?
Wild kiwi- quite smaller, and less furry than the kiwi we see in stores- grows on a beautiful, glorious vine that twines and shoots up 20,30,40 feet in the sky. The new shoots of vines are a splendid and deep pink-red, and the kiwis grow in cute little bundles. When you open them, they have the same seed structure as larger kiwis. You must wait until they are so squishy they seem rotten- this is when the wondrous floral and intense flavor comes through. Nowhere near as sour as store kiwis. Impossible to stop devouring- that is, until you canβt reach any more ripe ones….

Maine seems to have everything! π
