I designed a new tattoo for myself. It is an evil eye. I wanted this tattoo to be a magical symbol of sorts to serve the purpose of the evil eye bracelets(to ward off the evil eye) but also as a protective and guiding symbol.
It was a very very long and painful tattoo. It lasted 13 hours in total as there were a couple problems with transfer paper, stick and pokes take a while, I needed lots of breaks because of the pain, and it was the biggest tattoo my friend has done ( at the time). It was definitely a spiritual experience and a bonding experience which we both exclaimed several times. I coped with the pain in empowering ways. It felt like a heroβs journey or like some sort of coming of age ritual.
