Since being here in Maine Iβve been able to interact with the shores and ocean waves in such a different way than I ever have before.
I lived by the coast(Bay Area) since I was 9 and yet have always been terrified of the water, itβs organisms and depths and temperatures. Deeper than a healthy respect and precaution, it kept me away from the embrace and power and might of the ocean. Now I am learning of the oceans gentleness, acceptance of all regardless of size, her mighty power that leaves little room for trying to push her away.
Yesterday me and my friends spent 6/7 hours exclusively by the roaring waves, rocked by the swaying of motion on the pier. I fell asleep, my body still rocking to the gentle hymn of her heartbeat.
No wonder we rock babies to sleep.
Yes, itβs amazing!
I love the “gentle hymn of her heartbeat.”
