Herbal tinctures!

I’ve begun a round of herbal tinctures. On my list at the moment are as follows

A hair oil; with dandelion root(pictured below), burdock root(a 2 foot long taproot), nettle leaf, comfrey root, horsetail, and rosemary. This should help condition my scalp and hair, strengthen my hair, increase the shine, and overall give health and vigor to my hair.

Bug bite salve: with comfrey leaf, yarrow, woundwort, common plantain leaf, and the stalks and leaves of jewel weed. Yarrow and plantain grow like weeds here. Anyway, this should be a wonderful blend. I’m going to make it into a salve, using beeswax.

Plans: I’m planning on harvesting mustard seed to use as a topical pain and bruise reliever. In addition, I’m harvesting plantain seed and husk- it is also called psyllium, a form of what they grind up and flavor to make mucinel.

I also want to try to make some form of mood tincture. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know!

Oh, wow, I am jealous! This is awesome. Are all the herbs wildcrafted? Not sure what would be growing there in the wild for mood….valerian root, passionflower, oatstraw, hops, sage, st. john’s wort…..

I swear that root looks like the one in that Mexican horror movie we watched together! Remember?!

Just reading your descriptions and seeing the photos are enough to evoke love and respect for our Mother.
