A tour of Mt Desert Island

Orange slimy fungi; a pretty rock; wonderfully pink algae; and a massive fungi I found on the ground.

How interesting that the island is named β€˜Desert’. For truly, it is more like an ocean here. There is constant rain or humidity or fog. On this particular day, there was a splendid storm and heaps of thick fog. The ground was so spongy, it sucked your feet in several inches, then rose back to normal moments after you released the pressure of your foot.

A botanical garden that we climbed up 200 stone steps to reach. How amazing that the walk up was as entrancing as the garden itself
