My friend Lucian and I made apple butter this week. Apple butter is, basically, a super concentrated and super thick form of applesauce. It took two days in the slow cooker! Then we canned it. We made 6 cups total, from foraged wild apples. An amazing gift. I gifted one to my friend, who lent us the cans, one to two of my friends, who provided social company during the cooking, and one will be sent home with my parents for them to enjoy….
