A poem about a place where you can feel the heartbeat

The deer jaw I found in this spot, as if waiting to be seen by me

I found her
Resting gently
Upon a bed of gently tossed
Whorled and smoothed
Gray green hair
The perfect size of me
Or three
To curl and snuggle
Against her bosom
The middle age Oaks
Maples and pines
Tossing their limbs
Soaking the waning sun
Toasting in the heat
Standing so incredibly tall
And strong
Shade this gentle cove
From that fiery father
Up in that
blue
blue
blue
sky
And shield that warm and fragile body
From the cool breeze
Hungering for some of my bloodheat
My toes
My feet
My soles
(Souls)
Ache something deep
Deep and cramped
From those pointed, jagged rocks
I wafted and stumbled over
Step eagerly upon that bed of hair
Sigh
Loudly, gratefully,
Contented
With this simple pleasure
Of soft grass
That lifts and rests
my weary bones
I smell the sap all about me
Sweet and deep and brazen
Hearty resin,
Sticky blood
Flowing along rivulets and streams
Of her scratchy-soft skin
There is little that tethers me to this ground
That holds my spine, my sacrum
Curved and strong
Little to keep my legs from wobbling
Then tumbling
As if an infant
Rubber and muscle
To the soft earthen bed
Power and heartbreak and grief and love
Crash and dissolve
Thunder and pummel
These boulders
Great jagged smoothed teeth
Gray and pink and black and white
Speckled with bone barnacles
And their spectacularlyTinyTongues
I hum a tune of gentle rapture
Love flowing from my fingertips
I watch these gray blue waves
Feel my core smoothen and sway
The spray
The salt
The cyclicur drum of water against water against rock
Lulling my soul
To peace
I turn and discover
She’s been here all along
Five or six years in the making
Slowly cleaned and picked and stripped
Teeth white and bumpy and
Intricately whirled
I slither and slide
Damp with excitement
Shivering with awe
Hold her so gently
As if a newborn child
In my hands that shake and tremor
So perfect and smooth
Jagged in all the right places
A perfect
Wonderful
Jaw bone
Every tooth in place
And right next to her
A melon sized rock
Jagged
Translucent
And dazzling with quartz
So huge I can’t imagine
A sure sign
That this spot is meant to be with me
In my heart
My special private place

Every beautiful word you write shows how deeply you are connected to and one with our Earth and everything that not only lives on it, but also exists on it. β™₯
